Six rounds this week, surgeons paid for one
Six European startups announced rounds this week. One of them was funded by more than 15 surgeons.
- Gallium Defense, Paris: a €7.1M seed led by Keen Venture Partners and 360 Capital, with Omnes and Polytechnique Ventures. Founded in April, it is building a radar meant to detect FPV drones up to 10 km away at a fraction of the usual cost.
- CyberKord, Milan: a €2.7M pre-seed led by 360 Capital, with Plus Partners, Addendum Capital and Vento. Founded this year, its AI investigates and fixes IT and security issues, with the customer choosing how much it may do alone.
- 1nhaler, Scotland: £2.2M in follow-on funding led by Archangel Investors Limited, with Scottish Enterprise and BBB Investments. Its inhaler is mostly cardboard and the size of a credit card. Regulatory filing is targeted for late 2027.
- Granter, Portugal: €1.6M led by 3xP Global, with Celtis Venture Partners, Gateway Ventures and Deel. Its AI helps companies apply for public funding. The lead fund sits under a venture programme managed by Banco Português de Fomento, Portugal's state development bank.
- avaisor, Davos: CHF 488,000 pre-seed from a syndicate of more than 15 surgeons. It records why a surgeon makes a decision, not only what happens on video, and makes that reasoning available to others.
- Lazzaro One, Berlin: a six-figure pre-seed from B#, the pre-seed fund of IBB Ventures. Its software flags unusual vessel behaviour, including shadow fleets that manipulate tracking to evade sanctions.
360 Capital is in two of the six, and both of those companies were founded this year. At avaisor, the people writing the cheques work in the field the product is built for.
