Visiting this website
The site runs on Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., USA). To deliver and protect it, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address, the page requested, the time, and your browser details. We have a legitimate interest in a secure, working website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Logs are kept only for a short time.
We set no cookies and run no analytics or advertising trackers on this site. Fonts are served from our own domain. Links to LinkedIn are plain links, so no data goes to LinkedIn unless you click one.
Newsletter
If you sign up, we process your email address to send the newsletter, based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You first get a confirmation email, and nothing else is sent until you confirm. The newsletter is delivered by beehiiv Inc., USA, acting as our processor. Beehiiv also records technical data such as your IP address and when you sign up and confirm. We also pass on which channel brought you to the signup form, such as LinkedIn.
Beehiiv measures whether emails are opened and which links are clicked, so we can see what readers find useful. This is covered by your consent.
You can withdraw your consent at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email. We keep your data until you unsubscribe and may then keep your address on a blocklist, so that you are not emailed again by mistake.
Contact form and email
When you use the form, we process your name, email address, the topic and your message, plus your company if you add it. We use them only to answer you. The basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to a contract, and otherwise our legitimate interest in replying (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Form messages are delivered by Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc., USA) to our mailbox at Google (Google Workspace), both acting as our processors. Your IP address is briefly used as a counter to limit abuse of the form and is not stored by us. We delete enquiries once they are dealt with, unless legal retention duties require us to keep them.
Transfers outside the EU
Cloudflare, beehiiv, Resend and Google may process data in the USA or other countries outside the EU. These transfers are based on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or, where a provider is certified, the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (Art. 44 ff. GDPR).
Your rights
You have the right to:
- access your data, and have it corrected or deleted (Art. 15 to 17 GDPR)
- restrict its processing and receive a portable copy (Art. 18 and 20 GDPR)
- object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21 GDPR)
- withdraw consent at any time, with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR)
- complain to a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR)
Our authority is the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht) in Ansbach. To use any of your other rights, email hello@thebatchroom.com.
You do not have to give us any data to read this site. Without an email address we cannot send you the newsletter or answer you.
