DiLT Analytics, the TU Graz spin-off that diagnoses building systems

Large buildings can run their heating and cooling wrong for years without tripping a single alarm. A TU Graz spin-off just closed a seven-figure round to find those faults.

DiLT Analytics combined an equity investment from Noctua Science Ventures with a grant from Austria Wirtschaftsservice (aws) under its Seedfinancing Deep Tech program. Noctua is the Vienna deep-tech fund set up by Speedinvest and Austria's technical universities. Neither amount was disclosed.

The product is called FaciliMind. It reads the data a building's management system already collects and diagnoses faults in heating, ventilation and air conditioning. For each fault it names the likely cause and tells the team what to fix first. DiLT Analytics says it can build the digital model of a complex plant in a few days instead of months of manual work.

Franz Wotawa and Gerald Schweiger founded the company at the end of 2021 as a spin-off of the Institute of Software Technology at TU Graz. Theresa Kohl is CEO. Customers include TU Graz, Technische Universität Wien, BIG Bundesimmobiliengesellschaft m.b.H. and IG Immobilien.

The Austria Wirtschaftsservice (aws) program behind the grant goes up to €889,000 per project, paid as a conditionally repayable grant in milestone tranches. Its current funding period ends on 31 December 2026.
